Ed started using GIS as a master’s student at Duke University studying dolphinfish distribution in relation to ocean conditions, which was published in Fisheries Research. He has also used cutting-edge geographic tracking technology to study the behavior of whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef, Australia, Weddell seals in Antarctica (published in Nature Communications) and Steller sea lions in Russia. Ed has designed and implemented desktop, server and web GIS applications for a variety governmental and private organizations. He has also been teaching GIS at Rowan University in the Department of Geography & Environment since 2014. At DVG, Ed specializes in creating unique and integrative GIS solutions by helping clients leverage their existing technology investments in both on-premise and cloud environments.
When not writing code, you can find Ed spending time with his wife and 3 kids, fishing (he holds a USCG Captains License), snowboarding, hiking or staring at a nautical chart.
